After years of enhancing homes and cultivating gardens, a retired couple is creating their forever home, designing every detail to reflect who they are and how they want to live.
Starting the landscape planning before construction even begins is one of the most exciting stages of a project. When the ground hasn’t yet been broken, it gives us the rare opportunity to shape the landscape and garden alongside the home itself. Working closely with the architect and civil engineer, we can thoughtfully design every outdoor space so the architecture and landscape feel seamlessly connected from the very beginning.
Set within a wooded valley, the modern residence will feature clean, open spaces and a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. Terraces will overlook the woodlands, while walking trails wind through the trees to a quiet stream—perfect for strolls with children, grandchildren, and family dogs. With a deep love for nature, the homeowners envisioned a house that feels nestled into the land, offering a peaceful place to settle down and enjoy retirement.
The gardens will draw inspiration from natural landscapes without imitating them, including broad, sweeping drifts of textured plantings reminiscent of Winterthur.
